Abstract: A fragmentary inscription from Jerusalem gives information about the erection of an arch for an emperor, whose name is missing. In a previous publication the name of L. Flavius Silva, the conqueror of Masada, was restored as the governor responsible for the erection of the arch. This restoration is excluded; neither the formula of such inscriptions nor the remains of the name allow that. The preserved part of the inscription refers to the time when Jerusalem was refounded as an autonomous city by Hadrian as Colonia Aelia Capitolina. Jerusalem, arcus, Colonia Aelia Capitolina, erasure in an inscription.

S. Antolini, Ancora pueri et puellae alimentarii a Cupra Montana, p. 57-68
Abstract: The study of an inscription dedicated by pueri et puellae alimentarii, wich ends with the unusual formulary qui ex liberalitate eius aluntur (G. PACI, Una nuova dedica dei pueri alimentari da Cupra Montana, in C. DEROUX (éd.) Corolla Epigraphica. Hommages au professeur Yves Burnand, Bruxelles 2011 (= ‘Coll. Latomus’ 331), pp. 589-601), allow to allocate a disappeared fragment already known (C.I.L. IX 5719) to the same type; moreover this is presumably the same of another disappeared fragment (C.I.L. IX 5723). With the new inscription the alimentary program in support of the young Italic counts now overall three testimonies (C.I.L. IX 5700; PACI, art. cit.; C.I.L. IX 5719 = 5723). Latin epigraphy, Imperial dedication, pueri et puellae alimentarii, alimenta, Cupra Montana.
F. Branchesi, Instrumentum domesticum inscriptum da Sena Gallica, p. 69-90
Abstract: The article aims to investigate some materials entered in instrumentum domesticum exposed in the archaeological site and Museum below the theatre «La Fenice» of Senigallia and coming from the archaeological site itself, the city and its territory. This is a small corpus of graffiti by hand after cooking on black paint ceramic (III-II century BC) and on dolia and, in addition, of stamps embossed on amphorae coming from Rhodes (II century BC) and Adriatic (I century AD). This documentation is of interest to the phenomenon of the spread of «culture epigraphy» in the first stages of romanization of Ager Gallicus, not only significant for the definition of the markets of Rhodes and commerces in the Adriatic region of Umbria. Senigallia-Sena Gallica, instrumentum domesticum, graffiti on black paint ceramic, graffiti on dolia, stamps on amphorae of Rhodes, stamps on amphorae of the Adriatic.

F. Vermeulen – M. Destro – P. Monsieur – F. Carboni – S. Dralans – D. Van Limbergen, Scavi presso la porta occidentale di Potentia: notizia preliminare, p. 169-205
Abstract: In this paper we present the main results of an excavation carried out between 2007 and 2010 by a team from Ghent University (Belgium) on the west gate of the Roman town of Potentia. The digs perfectly confirm what is known from recent prospections of the general topography and the plan of the late Republican and Imperial, rectangular gridded town. They also provide good chronological and stratigraphical evidence about the two main building phases of the gate, the development of the main East-West street and the character of the defences, with their ditch, wall and agger. The finds are an important contribution to our knowledge of the Republican phases of the coastal colony of Potentia. Potentia, Roman Age, Topography, West Gate.

Abstract: This article presents a fragment of mortar, probably found in the territory of Civitanova Marche, on which this stamp appears: C(ai) Satrini C[el(eris)] Clemens [fec(it)?]. The same punch is testified by five stamps impressed on three different mortaria, all of them found in Pompei. Another punch is documented by a stamp found in Terzigno (Napoli). The production of these mortaria must be linked to the city of Rome, immediately after the second half of the I century A.D. A production of bricks, in which Clemens is already represented as a libertus, was made slightly later. Mortar, Cluana, Satrinius, stamp.
